A charming, quirky well-located place

Terrific location, small, really only good for 2 people. We found it comfortable and homey. As others have noted, there are internal stairs with no handrails, so be sure you can navigate that. King-size bed with access from one side only. The view of church domes and the regular ringing of church bells reassured us that we were actually in Rome! Most of our 9 days there we found good places to eat in the immediate vicinity, especially the Tuscan restaurant on the right just after turning right into Piazza Pasquino from the apartment. One negative for us is that the bed linens and towels had been washed in a floral fragrance soap which took several days to air out -- we'd really suggest using plain unscented soap for those of us who are sensitive to strong scents. It made for a great vacation for us, with walking distance to so much of what visitors want to see in Rome, and a nearby taxi stand (and bus access) for those more distant sights.

Great location and view

Perfect location, absolutely beautiful view from the terrace and just about anywhere in the apartment. Perfect for two. Perfect little kitchen and sitting area. Very comfortable. I loved all of it's books and paintings on the wall. A great place to return to after walking and exploring Rome each day. We had a wonderful stay at Attico Arcadia.

Great Apartment

Really liked this apt. Great patio outside with rooftop views of the city. Everything was clean & was as represented. Comfortable furniture, king size bed (very, very firm), kitchen, full bath, & washer. Air conditioner in bed room & tbe building has an elevator so you dont have carry luggage upstairs. The Apt is located beside Piazza Nuvana. It is located a quick cab ride to all major sites (5 minutes).

Perfect location

We stayed at this property for two weeks. It was perfectly located for what we had planned which was a walking tour of Rome. Each day we left on foot and were able to see all of the main historical sights in the city. The restaurants and shops in the Piazza Navona and nearby were the best in the city in our opinion. We enjoy cooking our own food as well, and there was a grocery store very close for purchasing whatever you need. If you need a taxi, there are several places super close to get one. Church bells ring during the day and you can hear music from the terrace on some nights. We had a visiting Seagull that liked to perch outside the bathroom window which was fun. The apartment is well stocked and comfortable. The air conditioner was a very welcome item in the afternoons that we were home. If you just want to stay in for a day, there are plenty of television stations and he has provided a large selection of books if you enjoy reading. I used the small washing machine a few times and he has a clothesline for drying. We opened the sliding doors every morning and evening to let the breeze in and enjoyed that very much. You can pull the drapes all the way open and let it a lot of light. We had a slight problem with that as there were 2 cats that constantly tried to get in the apartment. If you are not a fan of cats, it can be irritating. They are really cute, but I'm not a fan of cats. We did come up with a way to keep them out finally. I would suggest that the owner possibly install a screen door on one of the large doors. The apartment has 3 levels, so you do need to be able to do stairs easily if you stay there. My husband and I are into fitness, so we loved them and also took the 100 plus stairs to the apartment each day. There is a lift for those who do not. We will definitely stay here again if we make another trip to Rome. It felt like we were residents of the city and not just temporary visitors.

Great location and lovely sunny balcony

As others have said, it's small, but the location is unbeatable--walkable to all major sites, as well as great restos (Cul de Sac, Pizzeria Baffetto, Ditirambo) and the awesome Frigidarium for gelato. Also really enjoyed recharging on the sunny terrace.

Absolutely amazing apartment in perfect location!

My husband and I spent 8 nights at this gorgeous apartment right in the heart of Centro Storico. The apartment is perfectly located, walking distance from all the major sites and a stones throw away from great restaurants and shops. The apartment itself is so perfectly designed it has everything you could wish for in style and convenience. The sun drenched roof terrace has amazing views of the Basilica and other major sites. We enjoyed many glasses of wine and cheese plates out on the terrace. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is even a washing machine! Everyone we met in the apartment building was incredibly friendly and there is a great bike rental right downstairs. My husband and I we celebrating our 10 year anniversary and we could not have wished for a more perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion. We have decided to return regularly! We highly recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to visit Rome - so much better than any hotel!

We would definitely love to visit again! Terrific spot and better than any hotel you could get for the same money... Enjoy!

LOVED our stay. Location was amazing, just the best! The apartment is small, perfect for 2 people, but it did have everything we needed. Reminded us of a been on a boat, a little cupboard and nook for everything. The view was wonderful, and at lunchtime each day, someone nearby was cooking something incredible. It inspired us to shop for fresh produce at Piaza di Fiori and enjoy brushetta and chianti on our own balcony, while listening to the bells of St Peters. Truly beautifully, unforgettable and highly recommended.

Romantic Hideaway

This apartment is a dream. Perched high above the busy and noisy streets of Rome, you feel as if you are in a movie, sitting on your terrace having coffee in the morning or lunch or drinks at night under a clear Roman sky. The terrace really is a little jewel - we spent most of our time there -- and makes the apartment. It is so pleasant to eat outside and so welcoming after a hard day exploring Rome. The apartment has been ingeniously designed to take advantage of every nook and cranny and worked perfectly for us. Yes, it is small, but being on 3 levels and having lots of light and the terrace makes it feel larger than it actually is. I would not recommend more than 2 people staying there. The kitchen is well-stocked with all kinds of dishes and utensils. The location simply could not be better, within walking distance of so much of the centro storico. And very near lots of buses, provided you can figure out the bus routes! Food shopping is terrific with Campo dei Fiori for fresh fruit and vegetables and fantastic porchetta, which is not to be missed, only 5 minutes away in one direction and a Carrefour supermarket in another, not to mention a very nice wine store on Via del Governo Vecchio. There are all kinds of restaurants within walking distance and terrific gelato and the oldest wine bar in Rome. And, Piazza Navonna. You have to be ready to walk up and down the 6 steps to the loft bedroom. If you can, this apartment is truly a treat.

We'll be back!

The apartment is as described, and the photos are accurate. The beds are comfy. The kitchen is stocked with basic stuff such as oil, sugar, tea bags, good coffee ... this is so convenient not to buy everything at the beginning. We replaced what we used. The location is perfect - nice to have Piazza Navona right at your front door. The medieval streets and alleys, the many small restaurants, the little surprises around every corner was magic. If you walk just a bit away from the main touristy streets, you find an area where real people live - the old men playing cards on a small table, the girl in high heels with her cat on the bicycle, the women taking her dogs for a walk. The numerous restaurants make it almost difficult to choose where and what to eat next. I do not recommend the place that you walk into directly when you leave the alley in which the apartment is. We had one bad meal there. The waiter (his name is Constantine) is a real actor, sings songs when he serves you - then tries to swindle you with a wink and a smile! That's OK, it is Rome and you have to be vigilant, but the food was not nearly up to the standard of surrounding places (maybe it was just a bad night). The best gelato is to be found when you turn left and keep on walking for maybe 4 minutes, you pass various boutiques and restaurants, then a motorcycle repair place, then reach the gelato! After careful research we decided that the 'cookies and cream' was the best. There is a 3-legged dog that really loves gelato, he may make you feel so guilty for not sharing with him :) Things to note: do not be put off when you enter the building for the 1st time and things reek of decaying rubbish. They keep the bins in the entry hall, the 'aroma' also stays there. I think the apartment may work better for short people: tall persons may struggle in the shower and will have to watch their heads overall. When we were there it was high summer. Even with aircon the apartment was hot when the western sun beat against the windows. The place makes excellent use of every bit of space. But just know that, when the sleeper couch is down, you cannot reach the kettle. It never feels crowded, because it is so light and the windows are huge, but it may work better for one family than for two couples sharing. All in all, we had a lovely time in Roma, and I will gladly stay here again.
