Porto Santo Stefano Villa Rental

Villa sleeps 10. 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms

Villa Lividonia was designed to accommodate both indoor and outdoor life. Built in natural stone, it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers unforgettable views over the sparkling blue Mediterranean and Tuscan archipelago.

With five comfortably furnished bedrooms, four bathrooms, Villa Lividonia invites its guests to sit back and enjoy their stay. Whether you have lunch under the pergola after a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or enjoy a relaxing drink watching the sunset after a day spent exploring the Maremma countryside, we feel Villa Lividonia will not only be like a second home for you, but also a splendid setting in which to enjoy your summer holiday.

Argentario and Porto Santo Stefano

The peninsula of Argentario is connected to the mainland by three strips of land one of which is man made and the other two are natural sand. The beautiful lagoon of Orbetello lies between them protecting an infinite variety of birds. There are two small towns on the peninsula, Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole. You reach Villa Lividonia about 2km along the Via Panoramica. The town provides every necessity to make your holiday a success: all kinds of shops, supermarkets, hairdressers, beauty salons, etc. Between Porto Ercole and P.S:Stefano there is a brand new Spa, an eighteen hole golf course and a Polo field. Should you wish to vary your swimming you can choose to go to the public beaches of the Feniglia or the Giannella, the two sandy strips that connect Argentario to the mainland.

Porto Ercole

Monday is market day in Porto Ercole, the summer resort on the East coast of Argentario. A stroll through the market or a walk up to one of the Spanish fortifications that guard the small harbour is a pleasant way of spending a morning before going for a swim on the Feniglia Beach. There you can also hire bicycles and ride deep into the umbrella pine tree forest and, with a picnic, choose your own private bit of sandy beech.

In Porto Ercole you will find pretty little boutiques full of local colour and shops with the latest fashions, supermarkets and beauty salons and a warm hearted welcome from its inhabitants. To the night birds it offers any number of good bars and night clubs along its waterfront and by the yacht Marina.

The Island of Giannutri and Giglio

There are daily ferries going to these two islands of the Tuscan archipelago. Giglio, the larger one of the two, has an enchanting miniature harbour surrounded by candy coloured houses. From there you can take a bus or a taxi to go to Giglio Castello, the village built at the very top of the island, where you can have lunch washed down with the famous Giglio wine.

To the more energetic we advise a return to the harbour on foot: a lovely walk with magnificent vistas of the coast.

House with views to die for

This is a fully equipped, and I mean fully equipped, house that is actually lived in. It is not a holiday villa. The family who own the house are local (part English, part Italian), and they are on-duty and helpful if anything goes wrong as the electricity did while we were there. If you want easy access to the sea, this house is not for you. It is a long hike to the sea or a complicated drive. The alternative is a good pool in the garden. The garden itself is stunning.

Our extended family , all twelve of us met up here in May of this year for two weeks. We all absolutely loved the house, it's very spacious , spotlessly clean and very well maintained. If you like to entertain as we did it is fantastic and it's amazing eating dinner on the patio watching the most brilliant sunsets. The pool is great and enclosed so extremely safe for the kids and the pool bar will keep the adults happy too. The garden is really beautiful and full of colour and there is a built in BBQ which was a great hit with us. I could not recommend this house enough for families or couples. The owner is more than helpful and great for advice on local sites of interest and restaurants. Will definitely be going back.

Beautiful old works charm

Words fail me to describe the house and settings , family and friends flew in from 4 corners of the world for a few weeks break. Fantastic house in magnificent settings in beautiful sculptured mature gardens , reluctantly left the house to go to co -op for supplies but otherwise was extremely content to stay in villa , fantastic facilities for cooking monumental dinners in the evening , loved the local wine and food. Bliss, will be back again, the most relaxing holiday I have had in ten years. Great to recharge the batteries.

Magical, picture postcard Tuscan villa.

I have travelled all over Italy on many occasions. We are of Italian heritage, so our expectations are set very high. The Villa and the views were breathtaking. The accommodation was perfect for adults our 4 young boys. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, with spices and oil when we arrived. I love to cook and the kitchen had all the cooking utensils you need. We had dinner at some lovely local restaurants on the mountain, you don't even have to go down to the local town but its worth the drive or walk. The large supermarket, down in the town is well stocked and there is a local fish market , which was a little expensive but was super fresh. The local produce of the area was incredible, which made cooking all the more better. The local ricotta was to die for, i would have it every morning. We took a boat trip, which was spectacular, the Captain was a great guy, who began cooking our Marinara sauce the second we boarded the boat at the local mariana, the lunch that he gave us was by far the best meal I had the whole time i was in Italy, he actually had a local fishing trawler pull up alongside and the crew tossed fresh octopus over to us, which he incorporated into the sauce. It was 500 Euros for 9hrs, for 8 persons. We would have paid 800. The beach , which was a 15 min drive , was also very enjoyable , the kids had a great time and the Lido was great for lunch. The cliffs in front of the Villa were a little precarious for the children but good swimmers would have a ball. The local town of Porto Stefano was beautiful and make sure you try every ice cream shop you can , its worth it. The group of shops just below the villa are really good, if you run out of anything, there is a little mini market and across from there is a bar, where you can buy your morning croissants and coffee ,the guy in there is super helpful, he helped me find the boat. There is a menu in the house of local attractions and services , which Alex needs to update. All in all, it was a perfect week spent in one of the most beautiful places ion the world. We would return and we will recommend the house to others. Grazie

Bellissima (California)

This house was better than in the pictures. Beautiful gardens, lawn, pool with view of the sea and great poolside bar. House is tastefully decorated, cozy and chic - the owner provided restaurant recommendations in the nearby port towns but we loved the house so much we bought fresh fish at the markets and cooked outdoors most nights. Rented a boat in Santo Stefano for a day on the sea, weather is beautiful and the place is very relaxing. The whole coast is gorgeous and close to Rome. A real gem and great vacation!

A very special place....

Villa Lividonia is indeed a very special place I truly feel to recommend. The breathtaking views of the Med, the wonderful coulors of the ever blossoming garden, the warm and familiar county house stile interiors, have given my friends and I the opportunity to properly chill out and catch up together. We have also ventured in the beautiful and still unspoiled surrounding that the south of Tuscany can offer. Altogether a remarkable experience I’m looking forward to repeat very soon
